Job Summary:
The Manager of the Outsourcing department is to manage appropriate assessment, selection, negotiation and contract completion of outsourced services within a set region and/or globally. This is to be achieved through delegation to Outsourcing Managers or handled with direct responsibility. This is not a role where your voice will be lost in the masses, you will be heard, listened to and people will act on what you have to say.

Candidates:
Candidates must hold at least a Bachelor's degree, an MBA or similar is an obvious advantage. 5 years within clinical development in the pharmaceutical industry via a CRO or Pharma company. This combined with at least 3 years experience outsourcing/purchasing function to leave 8 years industry based experience.
Candidates will also need experience in evaluation of CROs, departmental management experience an advantage and demonstrated negotiation skills.
Responsibility Brief:
A list of responsibilities for this role are: Manage the selection, negotiation, contracting and management of outsourced services to meet the needs of internal customers either through delegation or direct responsibility (Specific responsibilities, will be agreed with the Director, Outsourcing Management); If assigned responsibility, manage through delegation and oversight the investigator agreement process ensuring guidance is provided to CROs for such agreements and to negotiate with Investigators where necessary; Manage departmental workload for areas of assigned responsibility
Ensure collaboration with project teams to develop study-specific budgets and provide guidance as to optimal outsourcing strategies.
You will also: Apply outsourcing policies and procedures consistently within the region. Assess contract language to ensure protection of the Company; Liaise with Legal function as necessary to ensure protection of the Company; Monitor performance of suppliers based on qualitative and quantitative metrics. Manage and present data to senior management as required. Maintain relationships with external suppliers to ensure best performance and business relationships and to escalate management issues as appropriate
Represent The company at external meetings; Manage through delegation and oversight the preparation of indemnity and insurance documents in a timely manner to meet the needs of the company's internal departments ensuring the company's interests are protected and Manage the invoice review and approval process.
