General Superstore Manager - South East

An opportunity to fast-track into executive level management with one of the UK's most successful retailers.

In a difficult economic climate there are very few retailers that continue to deliver significant revenue & profit growth within all of their key markets. This is an opportunity to join one of those businesses, coming in as a senior single site manager covering food & non-food, responsible for a turnover of at least £80m per year.

As the General Store Manager you will be 100% accountable for not only delivering against challenging KPIs but also achieving consistent growth, you will be given autonomy unusually found at this level to approach your role in a strategic & commercial fashion. You will be expected to demonstrate a rounded skill set with your key strengths being within people management (your team of managers will be 30+ strong) & commercial achievement. You must have experience of running a blue chip big box, high volume site and, importantly, be able to show evidence of high performance under challenging circumstances.

While the role of GSM (Superstore) is complex and challenging in itself, the real opportunity is where you can be in 18 months from now - joining at this level you will be next in line for a multi-site position (at home or abroad) across superstores or the smaller, convenience format at a zone-director level, you may also want to join the project team or possibly central operations, there are multiple options that are clearly laid out for you from day one.
